I had an official PR of 2:28:59 which was about 9 minutes faster than ATL half the month previous. Finally broke the 2:30 goal! With the last half marathon for the year in the books, I have a full marathon in my sites for next year
Second half and I finished 9 minutes faster than previous half. I hoped to break 2:30 but the elevation climb and calf cramps proved too much. Still, it was improvement
Over 2.5 hours of straight running. I hit the wall about 12 miles in and had to walk/ jog last mile. Side stitches about 7 miles in...calf cramps at 12...can't wait until the next one!
Adam's first time away from home at scout camp was loads of fun (according to him). Rafting, electronics, woodworking, and other activities kept him busy and his homesickness to a minimum!
Justin killed it by finishing his Ironman 140.6 miles in 10:15 hours. What an inspiring day it was. We are all proud of Justin and his accomplishments!
LaFae killed it this morning in her second obstacle race. She said this one was not as intense as Spartan, but still had its challenges. Especially the brain teasers! Lol!
We had a great time up near Cleveland GA! The weather was perfect and Adam had a great time with all the boys. We also completed a 5.06 mile hike Saturday morning as part of his scout camp requirements. Awesome time!
What a crazy day! Fae and I competed in the Spartan Sprint in Conyers. 4+ miles and 15 obstacles, it was definitely an experience we'll never forget! Fae finished 1:41:43 which put her 21st out of all the women that raced! I finished in 2:30:03 which put me at 3154 out of 4088 racers. It was tough but we finished it!
As 2011 comes to a close, we reflect on the many blessings we were able to experience this year. It is with excitement and hopefulness that we look forward to 2012, and ask that our Heavenly Father watch over us and guide us in all our doings. Have a great new year family & friends!
